The Berouti name—today spelled in various forms such as Beyrouti, Beiruti, Beirouti, and Beyrouthy—has taken on multiple variations depending on where family members resettled around the world after 1948. Yet, the original spelling, "Berouti," is how the Beroutis in Jaffa historically wrote their name in both French and English.
This website was created as a family history project that aims at preserving the memory of the Berouti family who lived in Jaffa, Palestine, until 1948, and at highlighting their contribution to their beloved city before their uprooting and exile during the Nakba. It was also created for any Berouti descendant who is interested to learn more about the history of their ancestors.

This is a work in progress. If you are a descendant of the Berouti family from Jaffa and happen to have pictures, documents, or any other items relevant to the Berouti family’s life in the city, please get in touch. I would love to add what you have to the collection.
Also, if you are a descendant of a family who was close to the Beroutis during their time in Jaffa—a few family names that come to mind are: Gellad/Gelat, Zamaria, Gargour, Araktingi, Talamas, Roch—and happen to have items or stories related to the Beroutis that you would like to share, please do not hesitate to contact me.
