Ajami and Jabal Araktingi — Aerial View of Palestinian Properties, pre-1948
Below are two aerial screenshots from Google Maps showing a section of Jaffa—specifically the neighborhoods of Ajami and Jabal Araktingi—where most members of the Berouti family lived prior to the Nakba.
The red-circled area in the first image corresponds to the general region shown in the second, zoomed-in image, where properties identified as having been inhabited or owned by specific families before 1948 are annotated.
I would love to annotate additional homes, as long as they can be identified with a high degree of certainty. If you know who lived in a particular home in Ajami, Jabal Araktingi, or elsewhere in Jaffa, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
P.S. For more detailed descriptions of most of the labeled properties in the second image, see the entry Jabal Araktingi, pre-1948.
